About Miss Emma's Retreat:

In April of 2017 little Emma, the third granddaughter of Capitalism to Cause CEO Michael Martin, came into this world just as precious as she could be. It was an uneventful birth, except for the fact that there was a small lump on her left chest about the size of a walnut.

Lacking the proper medical equipment the hospital transferred Emma, not yet 24 hours old, via the Kangaroo Crew, to Texas Children's Hospital where she spent the first week of her life in ICU undergoing numerous tests.

After three long weeks of waiting, Emma was finally diagnosed with Cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma to be exact, cancer of the soft tissue. Over the next 12 months, family and friends watched as she and her parents endured 52 grueling weeks of chemotherapy treatments.

It was during this time that Martin found sailing and the peace it brought. Grateful for this, he began to offer others going through the struggle the same opportunity to unwind from the tremendous stress brought on by the disease.

Today we call this opportunity Miss Emma’s Retreat where anyone in the cancer struggle or recovering can join us for a sunrise, afternoon, or sunset sail free of charge thanks to purchases of Coolin Curve Beverage Bucket.
